Tomorrow June 2, 2015 we 8th grade AVID students, will be graduating from the 2 year program. I expect that many tears will be touching our eyes tomorrow knowing we might not ever see each other after Junior High. This is touching and brings lots of joy into me, because we have accomplished so much and now all this has come to an end. AVID is my family! We will always be a family either far or close away from each other.
I have been in AVID for 2 years, my 8th and 7th grade year. This has been one of the best things I have ever experienced. I learned how to take leadership, communication, and many more skills. Within these skills I will cherish them and put them in use for my future. Staying organized has put me in a great advantage through out my years. The more and more the years came to end the better I kept getting on taking notes. My grades they still manage to stay up. All the activities we do, have taught me great things like teamwork and how we have to be responsible roll models to them. AVID has been my second family throughout 2 amazing years!
Today we had Ms. Blalock speak to us AVID students about her career. She made a career of her playing tennis since she was in high school. She is now on commercials and all sports things! She is a great inspiration of how she can be an athletic person and yet make big things into her life.
We had Mr.Diaz as a guest speaker on May 13, 2015. Mr.Diaz is an artist that draws many things in different topics. We learned that if you don't have good grades your options for college can shrink. This makes me want to try extra hard in my school years. He is a great inspiration how he told us that his parents didn't have enough money for college but he still went. This amazes me because my parents are just like his parents, so it inspires me to apply for colleges.
